The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for both Nassau and Suffolk Counties as an offshore storm with the potential to produce accumulating snow approaches the region. This storm is an intense low pressure system, and could potentially bring snow to the Island late Sunday Night into Monday Morning, however due to the uncertainty of the forecast track of the storm, it is unclear if the store will hit Long Island, or track further West.

In addition to the low pressure system headed toward LI late Sunday Night, there is a second, weaker low pressure system developing in the Mid-Atlantic Region that has the potential to bring even more snow to Long Island Monday Night into Tuesday Morning. WIth the uncertainty of the forecast, locals are advised to keep a close eye on the forecast so that they can stay apprised of the latest weather updates. A Gale Watch will also be in effect for the entire South Shore, as well as the North Shore in Suffolk County east of Port Jefferson starting late Sunday night, and continuing through Monday afternoon. Winds of 15 to 25 knots with gusts of up to 40 knots are expected in the waters surrounding these areas during that time.
