Bay Street Theater Annouces Legends of Comedy Film

Sag Harbor, NY - February 6th, 2015 - Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce LEGENDS OF COMEDY FILM, Saturday March 14 at 8 pm. Archivist Joe Lauro will host a hysterical film covering 100 years of some of the greatest moments in comedy from the days of  Music Hall and Vaudeville to the “little screen” of the 1950s-70s. Tickets are $15 and available online at www.baystreet.org or by calling the Bay Street Theater Box Office at 631-725-9500, open Tuesday through Saturday 11 am to 5 pm. 
 
The LEGENDS OF COMEDY FILM will showcase some of the best comedians from the Bowery to the Borscht belt. See rare clips of forgotten legends such as TOTIE FIELDS, MYRON COHEN, SMITH & DALE, HENNY YOUNGMAN and PAT COOPER to early performances by JOAN RIVERS, JACKIE MASON, GEORGE CARLIN, RODNEY DANGERFIELD, CAROL BURNETT, PHYLISS DILLER and SENOR WENCES and more. Also, a few highlights from the big screen featuring THE MARX BROTHERS, ABBOTT & COSTELLO and W.C. FIELDS and more. We guarantee you will leave the theater with a smile on your face!
