NCPD Arrests Two for Months-Long String of Robberies

The Robbery Squad reports the arrest of two men for multiple Robberies that occurred between September 2013 and February 2014 in Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, a joint investigation was conducted by the Nassau County Robbery Squad, Third Squad detectives, and Hempstead Police Department which led to the arrest of Gerald Brown, 26 of 107 E. Fulton Avenue, Roosevelt and Nicholas McNeil, 26 of 47 Mason Street, Hempstead. It was determined that the defendants committed the following robberies in Hempstead:
  • Monday, September 23, 2013 at 8:50 p.m. they entered Sunoco Gas located at 665 Peninsula Boulevard and removed an undetermined amount of U.S. currency.
  • Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 7:07 p.m. they entered Dunkin Donuts located at 579 Peninsula Boulevard displayed a handgun and removed unknown amount of cash.
  • Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 12:45 a.m. they entered Village Express Deli located at 427 S. Franklin Street, both displayed handguns and removed U.S. currency.
  • Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 12:05 a.m. they entered the Mobil Gas Station located at 797 Peninsula Boulevard displayed a handgun and removed the victim’s cell phones and U.S. currency.
  • Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 10:35 p.m. they entered the Sunoco Gas located at 665 Peninsula Boulevard, displayed a handgun and removed U.S. currency.
  • Friday, November 29, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. defendant McNeil entered Dunkin Donuts located at 579 Peninsula Boulevard displayed a black handgun and removed U.S. currency.
  • Monday, December 2, 2013 at 7:45 p.m. they entered the GameStop located 166 Fulton Avenue, displayed a black handgun, removed U.S. currency and the victim’s cell phones.
  • Wednesday, December 4, 2013 7:40 p.m. defendant Brown entered the Dunkin Donuts located at 579 Peninsula Boulevard, displayed a handgun and removed cash.
  • Monday, December 9, 2013 at 9:41 p.m. they entered the CITGO Gas Station located at 221 Baldwin Road, and removed unknown amount of cash.
  • Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. they entered Village Express Deli located at 427 S. Franklin Street and removed unknown amount of cash.
  • Monday February 3, 2014 at 11:39 a.m. they entered the Village Express Deli located at 427 S. Franklin Street and removed cash and the victim’s cell phone.
There were no injuries reported.
 
McNeil is charged with (10) ten counts of Robbery 1st degree and was arraigned on Wednesday February 5, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
 
Brown is charged with (10) ten counts of Robbery 1st degree and will be arraigned on Thursday, February 06, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
