37 Fire Departments Respond to Blaze in Roslyn

Thirty-seven fire departments responded to the scene of an extraordinary blaze that tore through a medical office building in Roslyn Saturday evening.

Firefighters in Roslyn were called just before 6 p.m. on Satruday with reports of a fire at a three-story commercial medical office building located on the northeast corner of Northern and Port Washington boulevards.

Arriving crews reported heavy fire conditions inside the brick-facade building, and within 30 minutes the blaze had grown to three-alarm status.

The building is home to several medical and dental offices, including North Shore Restorative & Implant Dentistry, Gold Coast Prosthodontics of Long Island, and Flower Hill Dental Group.

In addition to the Roslyn FD, 36 other departments and Nassau County PD, also at the scene were:

  • Nassau County Fire Marshall Chief, 
  • Fire Marshall Hazmat Office, 
  • Fire Marshall Investigators Office, 
  • Office of Emergency Management,
  • Nassau County PD Arson Bomb Squad Detectives,
  • Nassau County PD 6th Squad Detectives.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
