Woman Accused of Breaking into Lynbrook McDonald’s, Authorities Report

Lynbrook, NY - February 5, 2019 - The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a Rockville Centre woman for Burglary that occurred on Monday, February 04, 2019 at 2:35 am in Lynbrook.
 
According to detectives, Lynbrook police responded along with the Lynbrook Fire Department for a fire alarm ringing at McDonald’s restaurant located at 12 Merrick Road. Upon arrival it was observed that someone had entered into McDonald’s after throwing two rocks through the side drive through window and the front glass door. An investigation was conducted by police which led them to the defendant Maria A. Campione, 19, who was in close proximity observing the police and fire departments response. 
 
When police began questioning the defendant she quickly fled on foot. Police quickly caught up to defendant Campione and placed her into police custody after a brief struggle. There were no injuries reported. There were no proceeds recovered.  
 
Defendant Maria A. Campione is charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree. She was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Monday, February 04, 2019.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
