Garden City, NY - February 5, 2018 - Star White House reporter Maggie Haberman keynotes the Fair Media Council Folio Awards on March 21, 11 am - 2 pm at The Garden City Hotel.

Haberman, who serves as White House Correspondent for The New York Times and as Political Analyst for CNN, has been called 'the Queen of Political Journalism' by Vanity Fair. Her ability to consistently break stories (such as the this one on Trump ordering the firing of Robert Mueller in June of 2017) has also earned her the reputation for being 'the best reporter in the room.'

“Maggie Haberman’s work is a driving force behind the public conversation in America today,” said Jaci Clement, CEO and Executive Director of the Fair Media Council. “What she has to say is of interest to everyone, because it’s important to everyone and the future of our country.”

The Folio Awards is Long Island's biggest media event, honoring the best in news and social media as chosen by the public. This year, a VIP Reception and a Winners' Reception will both begin at 11 am, with the luncheon and awards program to follow in the Grand Ballroom.

The Folio Awards give the public a strong voice for advocating what they want and need in the news today. New categories are introduced each year, to encourage the news media to cover news that matters. This year, categories on drug addiction, gang violence, hunger and cyberbullying were among the new categories.

The Fair Media Council, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, advocates for quality news and works to create a media savvy society.

Tickets and tables are on sale now for the Folio Awards. For more information, go to www.fairmediacouncil.org, email info@fairmediacouncil.org or call 516-224-1860, ext. 1.
