The New York State Police Release Results of Super Bowl Sunday 2015 STOP-DWI Campaign

Long Island, NY - February 5, 2015 - On February 1st, 2015, the New York State Police issued 1,390 tickets during the Super Bowl Sunday STOP-DWI enforcement period.

The campaign began at noon on February 1st, 2015 and continued until midnight.

During this STOP-DWI campaign, the New York State Police increased patrols and conducted sobriety checkpoints to deter, identify and arrest impaired drivers.

The New York State Police arrested 31 people for DWI during this 12 hour campaign.

During this campaign, the New York State Police also targeted speeding and aggressive drivers across the state. Below is a sampling of the total tickets that were issued.

Distracted: 39
Seatbelt: 55
Move Over Law: 16
