Seth Bykofsky of West Hempstead thought the zany saying on his custom vanity New York State license plates was just good, clean fun, but the Department of Motor Vehicles sent that idea straight to the toilet.
Bykofsky recently received an order in the mail from the DMV that revoked the custom plates he had been using for the past year, which bore the phrase "PB4WEGO."
For those wo can't read between the lines, it means "pee before we go," a standard practice before long car trips...especially for the youngsters.
"My grandchildren, who when they look at the plate, they figure out what it says, they laugh hysterically," Bykofsky said to News12 Long Island. "Almost to the point where I have to tell them, 'Stop laughing because you might have to pee before you go.'"
However, the DMV failed to find the humor in Bykofsky's plates, and the agency ordered him to turn them in because they were "inappropriate."
The DMV notes that it has revoked 1,130 custom plates statewide, and in those instances offers free replacements.
"As part of the NYS DMV's ongoing and rigorous screening process, the agency recently completed a review of all personalized license plates currently on the road to assess compliance with the NYS Commissioner Rules and Regulations," the DMV said. "All plates that are no longer in compliance have been removed from the road and replaced with standard plates."
