Cops: Man and Woman Busted After Snatching Purse from Elderly Woman in New Hyde Park

New Hyde Park, NY - February 2, 2018 - Third Squad detectives report the arrests of two individuals for Grand Larceny that occurred on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 3:30 pm in New Hyde Park.
 
According to detectives, the female victim, 76, while loading her vehicle after shopping in the vicinity of 2335 New Hyde Park Road, was approached by an unknown male who removed the victim’s purse from a shopping cart. 
 
Upon police arrival, a male fitting the description of the subject was located and observed in the front passenger seat of a black Lexus. The vehicle was stopped by police and an investigation was conducted. The investigation revealed that Bradley Pearl, 32, of Plainview, removed the victim’s pocketbook and was arrested without incident.
 
Jillian Anselmo, 34, of Williston Park, was operating the black Lexus and was also arrested without incident.
 
Defendants Pearl and Anselmo are charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree and will be arraigned February 2, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
