Officers Assaulted While Responding to Domestic Disturbance Incident in New Cassel, 3 Arrested

New Cassel, NY - February 1, 2017 - The Third Squad reports the details of three arrests for Assault which occurred on Wednesday, February 01, 2017 at 12:05 pm in New Cassel.

According to detectives, Third Precinct patrol officers responded to an Irving Street home for a domestic disturbance.  Upon arrival a female resident of the home, 21 years of age, was being interviewed by officers when Crystal Sinclair, 26, came outside and began cursing and screaming at the complainant and charged past officers.  As the officers were attempting to place Sinclair in custody, Orlando Mosely, 28, who also resided at the residence began to pull Sinclair from the officers. 

A struggle ensued in which Mosley punched one of the officers.  As the officers were attempting to place both suspects into custody Dionne Davis, 19, also of the residence jumped on the back of one of the assisting officers.  Three officers were injured during the incident, one receiving a back injury, one receiving a laceration to his hand and one receiving an injury to his wrist.  The three suspects were placed under arrest and transported to the Third Precinct for arrest processing.  The officers were transported to an area hospital for treatment for their injuries.

Sinclair is charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree, Resisting Arrest and Harassment 1st degree.  Mosley and Davis are charged with Assault 2nd degree, Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree.  Additionally Davis is charged with a second count of Assault 2nd degree.  They will be arraigned on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at First District Court in Hempstead.
