Hempstead Man Arrested For Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors

Hempstead, NY - February 2, 2016 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Hempstead man on Tuesday February 2, 2016 at 7:20 a.m. in Hempstead for Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor.

According to Crimes Against Property Squad detectives, Daniel Arturo Monrroy Pineda, 27 of Hempstead created an account with the social media app “ooVoo” under the screen name “Papi” and made “friend” requests to numerous female juveniles between the ages of 11 and 14. The victim’s accepted the request where upon Pineda began sending sexually explicit pictures to the victims. A subsequent investigation was conducted which resulted in the arrest of Pineda on Tuesday, February 02, 2016 at 7:20 a.m.  in front of his residence.

Detectives request that anyone who feels they may also be a victim of this crime to contact the Crimes Against Property Squad at 516-573-5275.

Pineda is charged with (10) ten counts of Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor 2nd degree and will be arraigned on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
