SCCC Expanding Veterans Services, Director to Tell Legislature's Veterans Affairs Committee

Hauppauge, NY -  February 1, 2016 - Suffolk County Community College’s Director of Veterans Affairs Shannon O’Neill in testimony before the Suffolk County Legislature on Tuesday February 2, at 9:30 a.m. at the William H. Rogers Building, Hauppauge will inform legislators that Suffolk County Community College plans to expand services to the more than 700 veterans and eligible dependents enrolled at the college and open Veterans Resource Centers on each of the college's campuses, among other programs.

Suffolk County Community College’s Director of Veterans Affairs Shannon O’Neill in testimony before the Suffolk County Legislature on Tuesday February 2, informed legislators that college plans to expand services to the more than 700 veterans enrolled at the college and open Veterans Resource Centers on each of the college's campuses, among other programs.

Congressman Zeldin has been working with the college to bring the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs VetSuccess on Campus (VSOC) program to Suffolk. The VSOC program helps Veterans, Servicemembers, and their qualified dependents succeed through a coordinated delivery of on-campus benefits assistance and counseling, leading to completion of their education and preparing them to enter the labor market.
