New York Community Bank’s Roslyn Savings Bank Division To Begin “WALK For Alzheimer’s” Campaign

Bay Shore, NY - January 31, 2014 - New York Community Bank’s Roslyn Savings Bank Division, will begin raising funds for Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center, Inc.’s (ADRC) Old Bethpage WALK for Alzheimer’s and Coney Island Street Fair for the fifth consecutive year. The WALK will be held on September 6 at Old Bethpage Village Restoration.
 
On February 1, New York Community Bank (NYCB) will begin taking donations and displaying 10,000 ADRC Walk for Alzheimer’s® Sneaker Circle donation cards to help raise WALK donations at the bank’s branches throughout Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties. NYCB’s Roslyn Savings Bank Division employees will also participate in this year’s WALK for Alzheimer’s and raise additional funds to help support programs and services for local families with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease.
 
Last year, NYCB made a generous donation of $15,000, making the bank the 2013 Presenting Sponsor for the Old Bethpage WALK.
 
“My dad had Alzheimer’s Disease, so I know firsthand the challenges Long Island families face caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s Disease,” says Virginia Belling, Senior Vice President and Retail Banking Regional Executive for New York Community Bank’s Roslyn Savings Bank Division. “On behalf of New York Community Bank, I would like to thank our branch staff for helping to raise money and awareness for this disease.”
