Kings Park, NY - January 30, 2017 - Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta is partnering with Father Sean Gann, pastor of St. Joseph’s Church in Kings Park, to host a blood drive on Friday, February 17, from 2pm – 8pm at Travis Hall – Lower Level, behind the church at 59 Church Street. The drive is to benefit the blood banks maintained by Long Island Blood Services, which provides blood to hospitals throughout Long Island.

To be eligible to donate blood, a person must be between the ages of 16 (16 with parental consent) and 75, weigh over 110 pounds and not have had a tattoo in the last 12 months.

Please bring a valid photo ID with you and eat and drink plenty of fluids before donating.

“At this time of year with the cold weather, students away at college and some residents heading south, please help to prevent a shortage of blood supplies by donating one pint of blood, which can help save three lives,” said Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta. As a “thank you,” LI Blood Services is giving each donor a coupon for a free McDonald’s salad or sandwich with any purchase. For more information or to make an appointment, please call Legislator Trotta’s district office at 631-854- 3900.

Legislator Robert Trotta represents the 13th Legislative District, which includes Smithtown, Fort Salonga, Kings Park, San Remo, Nissequogue, Head of the Harbor, and St. James, as well as most of East Northport and parts of Northport and Commack.

Legislator Trotta serves on the Legislature’s Economic Development, Environment, Planning & Agriculture, Health, Public Works, Transportation & Energy, and Ways & Means Committees.
