Four Arrested for Fraudulently Reproducing Nassau County Payroll Checks and Cashing Them at Bank Locations throughout Nassau County

Nassau County, NY - January 30, 2017 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of four (4) individuals for Possession of a Forged Instrument that occurred throughout Nassau County.

According to Crimes Against Property Squad detectives, the following individuals fraudulently reproduced Nassau County payroll checks, cashed the counterfeit checks at various check cashing and bank locations throughout Nassau County.

Defendant Courtney Myers, 32, of Queens was arrested on August 18, 2016 and charged with Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree.  He was arraigned on August 19, 2016.

Defendant Domonique May, 19, of Elmont was arrested on September 10, 2016 and is being charged with Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of Marihuana.  He was arraigned on September 11, 2016.

Defendant Jeannette Murphy, 19, of Bay Shore was arrested on November 02, 2016 and is being charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree and Grand Larceny 4th Degree.  She was arraigned on November 03, 2016.

Defendant Latoine Bennett, 20, of Roosevelt was arrested on January 30, 2017 and is being charged with 7 counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree and Grand Larceny 4th Degree. He will be arraigned on Monday, January 30, 2017.

After an extensive investigation by detectives, the defendants were arrested without incident for a total loss to the various banking institution of over $2000.00.  They were all arraigned at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
