Arrest Made for Jericho Gas Station Attendant Murder

Update - June 18, 2015 - The Homicide Squad reports the arrest of Joshua N. Golson-Orelus, 23 of Westbury for the below Homicide. Golson-Orelus was located and placed under arrest on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 8:40 a.m.

Golson-Orelus is charged with Murder 1st degree, Robbery 2nd degree, Robbery 1st degree (Attempt), and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.

A press conference will be announced for later today.

Update - January 29th, 2015 at 2 PM - The victim has been identified as Hany Awad, 56, of Levittown.

Jericho, NY - January 29th, 2015 - Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred in Jericho on Wednesday, 01/28/15 at 9:10 P.M.

According to detectives, a male customer entered BP Gas Station located at 39 Jericho Tpke., and discovered the male attendant laying on the floor behind the counter. The deceased, 56, was found to have suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene by a Nassau County AMT at 9:30 P.M.

The identification of the deceased is not being released at this time. The motive of the homicide is still under investigation.
