North Babylon, NY - January 27, 2017 - NFP Sports has partnered with Long Island McDonald’s to help benefit the LI Ronald McDonald House through their fundraising program involving high schools across Long Island.  Founded in 2009, NFP Sports has helped high school sports teams raise more than $10 million and has grown from New Jersey to Vermont, servicing over 1000 high schools. Their program provides zero risk, there are no minimums, and the teams average between $100 to $200 per athlete. More information can be found on their website www.nfpsportsnewyork.com.

"We love working with local sports teams to raise the money they need. And it makes it that much better that in doing so, we are able help the LI Ronald McDonald House. The House does such great things for families in need, and we are happy to do our part to support them. We truly value the relationship with Long Island McDonald's and look forward to expanding on this for years to come.", says James Thomson, co-founder of NFP Sports.

“We are excited and thankful to NFP Sports for their stepping up and donating a portion of their company’s profits to help support our LI Ronald McDonald House, says Luciana Montuoro, Long Island McDonald’s Marketing & Public Relations Director.  Their ongoing commitment to support our house in trying economic times, when companies are cutting back, speaks volumes to their mission, and to their commitment to the community.

In November 2002, the Board of Directors at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island embarked on a $5 million journey to more than double the size of the existing facility.  The reason for this project was to help alleviate the pressures the resident managers faced when forced to turn away families in need.  The new building, consisting of 24 additional bedrooms along with expanded community areas, has allowed the House to serve approximately one thousand families each year.

The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island provides families a home-away-from-home during their child’s treatment for a serious illness or injury at local hospitals.  Since 1986, the House has served more than 18,000 families, with more than half coming from Long Island and the boroughs of New York.

The warm and supportive atmosphere of the House combined with the ability to be at their children’s bedside within minutes, is priceless to families during difficult times.
