Copiague Man with 95 Suspensions Arrested for Carry an Illegal Rifle and Marijuana
Commack, NY - January 24, 2017 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a Copiague man who was smoking marijuana, carrying an illegal weapon and had 95 suspensions on his license.
Second Precinct Crime Section officers Heather McQuade and Bobby Temple were at the park and ride on Commack Road and Expressway Drive South in Commack when they smelled marijuana emanating from a 2001 Nissan Sedan. The officers approached the driver of the vehicle, Jerry Tenzie, and discovered that he had 95 suspensions on his license from nine different dates. Further investigation revealed that he was in possession of an illegal rifle.
Tenzie, 47, of Copiague, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree.
Tenzie will be held at the Second Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on January 25.
