Nassau County police have arrested two teens for a Westbury burglary which occurred at at around 4 a.m. on Friday, January 10th. Authorities say the home’s owner noticed something was foul when a rear basement door and window had been opened without her doing in the Roxbury Road residence.

After seeing the opened window and door, the 64-year-old victim found that her pocketbook, a credit card, two IPhones, IPad, and car keys had been removed from the home. When the victim made her way outside she also saw that burglars had taken her 2007 Acura from the driveway.

Authorities have accused Demorris Baity, 18, and 19-year-old Rockey White, for the Westbury burglary. Of the two alleged burglars, Baity was the first to be apprehended. Shortly after the incident the NCPD found the victim’s Acura and IPhone at his Franklin Street residence. Authorities then placed him under arrest at his home without incident.

White was arrested a few weeks later on January 23rd when he surrendered himself to the Third Precinct without incident.

During the investigation authorities found that the woman’s credit had also been used without her consent. The statement on the victim’s Bank of America card showed several purchases at a 711 on Powells Lane.

Baity was arraigned the day after the burglary at the First District Court in Hempstead. He was charged with Burglary in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree. White was later arraigned a few weeks later on January 24th for Burglary in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree, and Identity Theft in the Third Degree.
