William Floyd School District: Free and Reduced Meal Applications Available for Furloughed Federal Employees

Written by Long Island News & PR  |  24. January 2019

Mastic Beach, NY - January 24, 2019 - Due to the government shutdown, the William Floyd School District has received guidance from the New York State Education Department that furloughed federal employees are eligible to apply for the free or reduced meal program.

In order to receive free or reduced meals, families must fill out an application. Those approved will keep their free or reduced status for the remainder of this school year and a 30-day carryover into next school year, at which time families will need to re-apply should they still qualify and wish to continue the benefit.

Additionally, anyone who has not yet filled out an application for this school year and/or whose situation has changed from the beginning of the school year, is encouraged to fill out an application.

If you have multiple children, you only need to fill out one application per entire family.

If you are printing the application and filling it out, please return the completed application to: William Floyd UFSD, 240 Mastic Beach Road, Mastic Beach, NY 11951 or fax to (631) 874-1847.
