The subject displayed a black handgun and demanded money while pressing the gun into a victim’s stomach, officials say.
Westbury, NY - January 24, 2019 - The Third Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred in Westbury on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 12:35 am.
According to detectives, two male victims 44 and 29 years old were walking on Union Avenue in the vicinity of the Westbury train station when they were approached by an unknown male subject from behind. The subject displayed a black handgun and demanded money while pressing the gun into the 44 year old victim’s stomach area. The victim handed over his wallet which contained no money. The subject being angered then hit the victim in his right ear with the gun. The 29 year old victim handed over an undisclosed amount of US currency to the subject.
The subject then turned again to the 44 year old victim demanding cash and was able to have two credit cards handed over to him. The subject then fled on foot across Union Avenue into the train station parking lot. The victim’s called 911 for Third Precinct police to respond. The victim suffered pain to his right ear and refused medical attention at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The subject is being described as being male, Hispanic, 20 – 25 years old, 6’0”, 150 Lbs, Blue ski mask, black jacket, black pants.
