SCPD: Man Dies in Single-Car Crash

Stony Brook, NY - January 23rd, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a single-car crash that killed a man in Stony Brook this morning.

Stanley Zinger was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry northbound on Nicholls Road when the vehicle went off the roadway, struck a guardrail then hit trees at approximately 7 a.m.

Zinger, 62, of Coram, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he pronounced dead a short time later.

Detectives believe Zinger may have suffered a medical emergency. Sixth Squad detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
