Nassau Teens Set Up Man for In-Person Robbery Through Social Media, Cops Say

Freeport, NY - January 22, 2019 - The First Squad reports the arrest of two individuals for a Robbery that occurred on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 7:10pm in Freeport.
 
According to Detectives, defendant Zohia Uddin, 17, of Bethpage and defendant Shawn Ulloa, 19, of Inwood were arrested on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 11:55pm at 125 Solomon Avenue Inwood without incident.  
 
Defendant Uddin made arrangements with the male victim, 24, through social media to meet.  Defendant Uddin entered the victim’s car and they drove to 223 W. Merrick Road for a drink. When the victim entered the store and was out of sight, Defendant Uddin allowed Defendant Ulloa entrance into the back seat of the vehicle where he secreted himself out of sight.  
 
When the victim got back into the car, Defendant Ulloa sat up, put his hand around the victim’s face and threatened him with a knife. He then demanded that the victim give Defendant Uddin his money, keys and cell phone. In fear of his safety, the victim complied.  Both defendants fled the scene on foot and no injuries were reported. 
 
The investigation led to both defendants being charged with Robbery 1st and 2nd Degrees. Additionally, Defendant Shawn Ulloa is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. The defendants will be arraigned on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
