Baldwin Resident in Police Custody After Armed Dispute Over Money, Officials Report

Baldwin, NY - January 22, 2017 - The First Squad reports the arrest of a Baldwin man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 7:25 pm in Baldwin.
 
According to detectives, defendant Alex Toussaint, 19, entered the Baldwin home of a 43 year old male victim to discuss an issue with money. The two then continued outside. There the defendant pointed a handgun at the victim.
 
As the victim tried to call police defendant Toussaint went back inside the residence and closed the door. A short time later the defendant exited the home as First Precinct Officers arrived on scene. The defendant was placed under arrest without further incident. The handgun was recovered at the scene.
 
Defendant Alex Toussaint is being charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st Degree, 2 counts of Burglary 1st Degree and Menacing 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
