Islip, NY - January 20, 2017 - Islip Town Councilman John Cochrane, Jr. is encouraging all local veterans who served during the post-9/11 conflicts to participate in the latest edition of the Islip War Journals project. The Islip War Journals are compilations of veterans who served in specific conflicts. The first Islip War Journal covered veterans who served in World War Two, and subsequent editions covered the wars in Korea and Vietnam.

“The Islip War Journals are a way of recording our Town’s proud history of service to the country,” said Councilman Cochrane. “The journals become a resource that can inspire future generations of Islip residents, while paying tribute to the sacrifices of those who fought to make our country, and our community, a better place.”

To submit information for the Islip War Journals, call Councilman Cochrane’s Office at (631) 224-5559, or visit Islip’s Veteran’s Quarterdeck here.
