Mastic Beach, NY, January 22, 2015 – Students enrolled in the William Floyd High School Culinary Arts Academy, part of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program at William Floyd High School, are completing lessons based on various cuisines from around the world. Under the direction of Culinary Arts teacher Rich Daly, students planned the menu and created dishes from different regions of Asia. Next they will be creating European-inspired dishes.

“Lessons like these provide an opportunity for my students to learn about food and cultures from around the world,” said Mr. Daly. “It also gives them the chance to work with and taste new and sometimes exotic ingredients helping them become more well-rounded cooks throughout their lives or in their future culinary careers.”

The aspiring chefs put the finishing touches on their dishes.
