Written by Kelly Tenny  |  22. January 2015

According to The National Weather Service a coastal low from the Eastern Gulf of Mexico will be moving up the Eastern Seaboard on Saturday, January 24th culminating into a rapid moving system with the potential for notable accumulations of snow and ice.

Right now, although there is still some uncertainty about what sort of precipitation (snow or rain, a wintry mix, etc.) Long Island will be receiving due to the movement of the storm, it is forecasted that the Island will be getting hit with approximately 3 – 6 inches of snow.
