MacArthur Airport Nominated For USA Today’s Best Small Airport Award

MacArthur Airport has once again been nominated for USA Today’s Best Small Airport Award in its 10 Best series. Last year, the Long Island airport was voted the number six small airport in the US, according to the reader poll on the USA Today website.

 

Readers can vote to make it one of the top ten best small airports in the country.

 

The nominees were released on January 6 and voting will continue through February 1. People can vote on USA Today’s 10Best website. You can cast one vote each day. Winners will be announced February 12.

“We are honored to be one of the 15 airports selected by a panel of experts,” said Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter. “We are hoping our loyal base of travelers and the Long Island community will vote each day.”

 

The site describes these top facilities as being “smaller, friendlier airports” that “excel with their commercial flight offerings, easy access and amenities.” The small airport category includes airports with fewer than 10 million passengers each year.

 

“MacArthur Airport is working hard to provide an excellent customer experience,” said Aviation Commissioner Shelley LaRose-Arken. “It’s gratifying that the experts participating in the USA Today 10Best Awards recognize MacArthur’s ability to conveniently serve New York travelers."
