Bose Closing All Retail Stores, One Location on LI

Written by Lon Cohen  |  22. January 2020

Known for its high quality sound systems, Bose has had a retail presence since 1993 where customers could walk in and purchase its brand of audio equipment. That experience will soon be gone. Bose announced recently that it is closing all of its retail stores across the United States.

Locally that means the Bose store in the Roosevelt Field Mall will be closing its doors, although there is no timeframe and right now the store isn’t offering any special sales, according to someone who works at the store location. Previously there were Bose factory outlets at the Deer Park and Riverhead Tanger Outlet malls but those locations previously closed down.

In a statement about the store closings, Bose noted a “dramatic shift” to online shopping as the reason to step away from a brick-and-mortar sales strategy.

This latest announcement adds to the number of large national brands announcing they will close retail stores on Long Island, including Macys and Pier 1.
