Shirley, NY - January 22th, 2015 - The Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library (MMSCL) is providing free income tax counseling services to MMSCL cardholders on Thursdays this tax season beginning on February 5 through April 9, 2015.

A Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program counselor from Bethpage Federal Credit Union will be available to assist with income tax preparation. The counselor is bilingual and can assist Spanish-speaking patrons, as well.

The VITA Program offers free tax help to people who generally make $53,000 or less, people with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English-speaking taxpayers who need assistant preparing their tax returns.

Dates include February 5, 12, 19 and 26; March 5, 12, 19 and 26; and April 2 and 9 from 2 pm to 6 pm.
