The Homicide Squad announced that an arrest has been made in connection with a Fatal Vehicular Accident that originally occurred on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 11:09 p.m. in Freeport.
According to detectives, Bryan Mizhirumbay, 24, of 1501 Straight Path, Lindenhurst was operating a 2022 Honda eastbound on Atlantic Avenue and collided with a 2015 Honda being operated by Craig White, 55 of Queens, northbound on S. Long Beach Road.
Both operators were transported to area hospitals.
White suffered severe trauma and was pronounced at 11:49 pm by a hospital physician.
The Homicide Squad reports the arrest of Mizhirumbay in connection with the above incident. Defendant Mizhirumbay is being charged with Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, Vehicular Manslaughter 1st, Vehicular Manslaughter 2nd, Manslaughter 2nd, Assault 2nd, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving. He was arraigned on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at County Court, 262 Old Country Road, Mineola.
The investigation is ongoing.
