The Third Squad reports the arrest of two individuals for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance for an incident that occurred on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 9:11 pm in Westbury.
According to Detectives, Strategic Response Team (SRT) Officers while on routine patrol observed a 2011 Kia Sorento traveling eastbound on Old Country Road with an inoperable taillight. Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop.
After an investigation was conducted, the operator of the vehicle Defendant Natasha Celestin, 43, of 2 Oakland Place, Brooklyn was found in possession of a white powdery substance believed to be crack/cocaine. The passenger, Defendant Saifuddin Abdus-Samad, 55, of 38 Manor Court, Hempstead was found to be in possession of a loaded .38 caliber revolver along with a with a white powdery substance believed to be crack/cocaine. They were both placed under arrest without incident.
Defendants Natasha N. Celestin is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. Defendant Saifuddin Abdus-Samad is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.
They were arraigned on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
