Village of Hempstead Hosts Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade

Hempstead, NY - January 18, 2017 - Village of Hempstead officials, the United Peoples Organization, Inc. and more than 1,000 Village of Hempstead residents and community leaders recently marched in the 24th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade. The annual parade is organized by the Mayor Hall and the Village of Hempstead to honor the life and legacy of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The parade also spreads unity and community togetherness in the Village of Hempstead.

The parade started at the Kennedy Memorial Park and ended at the Miracle Christian Center, and was followed by a brief ceremony at the church.
