Two Levittown Men Busted for Drugs, Weapons During Traffic Stop, According to Authorities

Levittown, NY - January 16, 2019 - The Second Squad reports the arrest of two Levittown men on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 8:14pm in Levittown. 
 
According to Detectives, Officers observed five occupants in a 2014 Honda that failed to stop at a stop sign on Polaris Drive. Officers conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop and subsequently the investigation led to the recovery of a loaded .38 handgun and approximately a half pound of a substance believed to marijuana that was located inside the vehicle. Two occupants of the vehicle confessed to possession and made admissions to further weapons and drugs located at a storage facility and a residence.  
 
Search warrants executed at Defendant Jordan Tonis’s residence in Levittown and a storage locker located in Bethpage led to the recovery of approximately 298 alleged Xanax pills, 254 individually packaged e-cigarette cartridges containing alleged concentrated THC, approximately $1670.00 US currency, a large digital scale, a counting machine and a vacuum sealing machine.  
 
Defendant Jordan Tonis, 21, is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Assault 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of Marijuana, and for violating a Nassau County Stay Away Order five counts of Criminal Contempt. Defendant Tonis was arraigned on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
 
Defendant David Niem, 19, of Levittown is charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Menacing. He will be arraigned as soon as medically practical.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
