Two Men Shot, One Fatally, Outside Bar

Update: Jan. 16th @ 1:45 PM- Jean Yves, 25, of Wyandanch, has been identified as the man who was shot and killed outside a bar in Deer Park early this morning. The investigation is continuing.

Deer Park, NY - January 16th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that killed one man and injured another outside a bar in Deer Park early this morning.

Three people inside a white Cadillac pulled into the parking lot of Night Owl Lounge, located at 825 Deer Park Ave., when two people in a group standing outside fired several shots at the vehicle. The driver and a passenger were struck and transported to a hospital. The group fled the scene in two vehicles.

The driver was pronounced dead at the hospital.  The passenger, who was struck in the chest, was being treated and his condition is unknown at this time. The third person in the vehicle was not injured.

Homicide detectives are exploring the possibility that the shooting is gang-related. Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
