Holbrook, NY - Januar 15 - Suffolk County Legislator Bill Lindsay III honored Kurt Caminske Jr. with a proclamation on Tuesday, January 14, for his early commitment to the United States Coast Guard Academy.

Caminske Jr., a senior, scholar-athlete at Sayville High School, joined his father, Kurt Sr., mother, Barbara, and younger sister, Corinne at Legislator Lindsay’s district office to discuss Kurt’s future plans and his willingness to serve our country.

“Kurt is a true leader who is determined to succeed and help others,” said Legislator Lindsay III. “He is an ideal candidate for the Coast Guard Academy and I wish him the best of luck throughout his career as a member of our United States Armed Forces.”

Caminske Jr. was one of twenty nationwide applicants who were offered an early appointment to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and was the first member of the Class of 2018 to sign his paperwork. He will report to the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, on June 30, 2014, just two days after his high school graduation.
