Iran threatened to assassinate President Donald Trump during a Wednesday broadcast on the country's state-run television news network, reports say.
During the broadcast, a image of Trump was shown following the assignation attempt made against him in 2024 while speaking at an open-air presidental campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania.
Accompanying the image of the bloodied Commander-In-Chief surrounded by Secret Service agents, Iranian TV posted an ominous message: “This time it will not miss the target.”
The threat against Trump's life represents further escalation of tensions between the two countries, following the U.S. president's repeated warnings that he would order strikes against Iran if it keeps cracking down on anti-government protest movements.
Trump has not yet responded to the threat as of press time. Updates will be posted when they are made available.
