Crook Accused of Posing as Toyota Salesman, Bilking Elderly Man Out of $13K for Car He Never Received

The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of an Ozone Park man for Grand Larceny that occurred on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in Valley Stream.
 
According to Detectives, a 77-year-old male victim was present at the Toyota Dealership located at 400 West Sunrise Highway when an unknown male identified himself as a salesman working for Toyota. The victim made a verbal agreement with the suspect to purchase a vehicle. 
 
The suspect offered the victim a ride to Chase Bank where the victim removed $4,700 USC for what he believed to be the deposit for the vehicle. The following day the suspect contacted the victim requesting more money. In total the victim gave the suspect approximately $13,700 USC and never received the agreed upon Toyota vehicle.
 
After a thorough investigation, defendant, Navendra Balisingh, 22, of 11526 124th Street was arrested without incident.
 
Defendant Balisingh is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree. He was arraigned on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
