Suffolk County, NY - January 13, 2016 - Robert Delagi, MA, NREMT-P, Suffolk County's Director for Emergency Medical Services and Public Health Emergency Preparedness issued a statement regarding Governor Cuomo's remarks about Naloxone distribution:

“Suffolk County is pleased to hear that access to naloxone will be more readily available to those who need it. Governor Cuomo’s proposal to distribute naloxone through certain pharmacies without requiring a prescription will further reduce barriers to the public’s access to this lifesaving medication, and enhance community wide response to opioid overdose, strengthening the EMS and law enforcement emergency response system.”
