NCPD Assist Freeport Police Officers in Intensive Search for Subject Who Rode Away in Stolen Vehicle, Arrest Made

Freeport, NY - January 13, 2016 - The First Squad reports the details of an arrest for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property that occurred on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 11:08 pm in Freeport.

According to detectives, Freeport Police Officers were following a confirmed stolen vehicle into Roosevelt near Elizabeth Street and St. Francis Street when they requested assistance from the Nassau County Police Department.  Upon arrival, Freeport Police Officers were on foot pursuing a subject who had exited the stolen vehicle (a blue 2007 BMW) and ran toward Forest Avenue and Union Place.  At approximately 12:01 am, 911 received a call that an unknown male subject was inside a Thoma Place residence. That male exited the home when confronted by the homeowner.  Nassau County Canine Unit along with the Aviation Unit were called to the area.  After an intensive search, defendant Choy Spence, 26, of Freeport was placed under arrest at 12:18 am. 

Defendant Spence is being charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest and Criminal Trespass 2nd and 3rd Degrees.  He will be arraigned on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at First District Court, Hempstead.
