Freeport Man with Crack & Oxycodone Injures 2 Officers Resisting Arrest After Traffic Stop, Cops Say

The Seventh Squad report the arrest of a Freeport man for an incident that occurred on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. in Massapequa Park.
 
According to Detectives, officers observed the Defendant Samuel Dash, 58, of 78 Meister Boulevard operating a 2007 GMC Yukon westbound on Sunrise Highway with an obstructed (cracked) side view mirror. Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop. Officers observed the defendant to have a counterfeit New York State Inspection Sticker on his vehicle and placed him under arrest without incident.
 
At the Seventh Precinct, the defendant became violent and combative and a struggle ensued. Two officers sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. The defendant was also transported to a local area hospital for evaluation. Subsequent to the investigation the defendant was found to be in possession of a substance believed to be crack cocaine and numerous pills believed to be Oxycodone. 
 
Defendant Samuel Dash is charged with two counts of Assault 2nd Degree, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
