Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly announced that a Bronx man was sentenced today to 25 years in prison for sexually abusing his girlfriend’s daughter for more than a decade.

Juan Caceres, 58, was convicted on November 21, 2025, after a jury trial before Judge Robert McDonald of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child (a B felony).

The trial began on November 3, 2025, and the jury deliberated for two days before delivering their verdict.

Caceres was sentenced today to 25 years in prison and 20 years post release supervision.

“Juan Caceres is a disgusting predator who stole a young girl’s innocence and subjected her to regular and continuous sexual abuse for more than a decade,” said DA Donnelly. “Even after a medical procedure left the child temporarily wheelchair bound and limited her ability to move, Caceres exploited her condition to continue to satisfy his sick desires. The victim, now a young woman, bravely came forward to share her story of survival and ensure that this twisted man is held accountable for the pain and abuse he inflicted on her as a child. I am grateful that the court heard her plea and our recommendation and imposed the maximum sentence in this case.”

DA Donnelly said that beginning in 2011, the defendant began dating the victim’s mother and moved in with the family to a home in Port Washington.

Shortly after, the defendant began touching the child inappropriately. The conduct escalated, and the defendant began going into the victim’s bedroom at night to sexually abuse her multiple times a week for more than a year.

In 2013, after a medical procedure incapacitated the victim for an extended period, making her wheelchair bound, the defendant began regularly having sexual intercourse with her in her bed at night when she was unable to get up and walk away.

The defendant’s sexual abuse continued for more than a decade until the victim was an adult.

The defendant surrendered on December 23, 2024, to members of the Nassau County Police Department’s Special Victims Squad.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Bureau Chief Debra Bresnahan of the Special Victims Bureau, under the supervision of Bureau Chief Emma Slane and under the overall supervision of Executive Assistant District Attorney for the Litigation Division Kevin Higgins. The defendant is represented by Christopher Graziano, Esq.
