The Homicide Squad has identified the victim of a Fatal Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 5:23 PM in Long Beach.
According to Detectives, Thomas Maloney, 79, of Long Beach was crossing W. Park Avenue southbound when he was struck by a 2019 Blue BMW SUV traveling eastbound on W. Park Avenue being operated by a 58-year-old male. Maloney suffered severe trauma and was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced by a hospital physician. No other injuries were reported.
The driver remained at scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
