Man Shot During Armed Robbery at Gas Station

Huntington Station, NY - January 12, 2016 - Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which a man was shot during an armed robbery at a Gas Station in Huntington Station last night.

A man wearing a mask and carrying a gun approached an attendant at the gas pumps of the USA gas station, located at 1290 New York Ave., at approximately 9:45 p.m. and demanded cash. A confrontation ensued and the robber fired a shot, hitting the victim in the leg. The suspect fled on foot with cash.

The victim was transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of his injury.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately six feet tall, with a thin build.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this incident to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
