Make It A "Happy Neuter Year" This January at Kent Animal Shelter

Calverton, NY - January 10, 2017 - Make a resolution to get your male dog or cat neutered during Kent Animal Shelter's $20 "Happy Neuter Year" campaign throughout January.

“Neutering male pets is a simple surgery that reduces unwanted behaviors, like roaming, fighting, and urine marking territories,” says Pamela Green, Executive Director of Kent Animal Shelter in Calverton. “It also guarantees your dog or cat never fathers a litter of puppies or kittens.”

Neutering your male dog or cat will also prevent unwanted litters and reduce homeless pet populations. Spaying and neutering is one of the most effective ways to reduce the homeless pet population and is safe for puppies and kittens as young as eight to 10 weeks old, according to the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Sponsored by PetSmart Charities®, Kent’s “Happy Neuter Year” campaign will provide $20 neuter surgeries for male dogs and cats during the month of January. This special $20 rate is even less than Kent’s normal low-cost price and is available to all residents of Long Island, New York. Pet parents who wish to take advantage of this offer must mention the “Happy Neuter Year” campaign when they schedule their appointment. This campaign is based on availability, appointments are limited.
