Two People Arrested for Burglarizing Medford Assisted Living Facility

Medford, NY - January 10, 2015 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a man and woman who burglarized a Medford assisted living facility early this morning and stole food and equipment.

Fifth Precinct police officers responded to The Hamlet at Medford, located at 1529 North Ocean Ave., after a 911 call from an employee, while monitoring real time security footage, observed a man and woman enter through a rear door and steal food and commercial cookware. Officers arrested Allison Brown at the scene. Following an investigation, Dwayne Murphy was later arrested in Central Islip.

Murphy, 42, who is undomiciled, and Brown, 44, of West Yaphank Road, Coram, were each charged with Burglary 3rd Degree. Murphy was additionally charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree.

Brown was scheduled for arraignment today at First District Court in Central Islip. Murphy will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on January 11.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
