Bill Lindsay III Sworn In as Suffolk County Legislator

Holbrook, NY - January 9, 2013 - Bill Lindsay III was sworn in as Suffolk County Legislator on Thursday January 2, succeeding his father, the late Presiding Officer Bill Lindsay. Lindsay III will represent Suffolk County’s 8th legislative district, which encompasses the communities of Bayport, Blue Point, Bohemia, Holbrook, Holtsville, Oakdale, Sayville, West Sayville and parts of North Patchogue. 
 
“I am truly humbled to have been elected to serve the people of this district and I am very proud to follow in the footsteps of the many great legislators before me,” said Suffolk County Legislator Bill Lindsay III. “I am very eager to start working with all of our community members to bring economic growth and sustainability to our region.”
 
Lindsay III, a native to the 8th legislative district, graduated from Sachem High School in 1990 and St. Joseph’s College, Patchogue Campus, in 1994; earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Lindsay III has worked as an insurance broker for the past 20 years, his most recent job being Regional Vice-President of the Capacity Group.
 
Lindsay III’s goals as a legislator are to promote local economic growth, facilitate business creation and expansion, revitalize downtowns, protect the environment, attack the drug problem on Long Island, and make government more accessible for all Suffolk County residents.
