Two Busted by NCPD in Alleged Connection with Fatal Overdose in Rockville Center

Rockville Center, NY - January 9, 2019 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of  2 men that occurred on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
 
According to detectives from Narcotics/Vice Squad, an investigation was conducted regarding a fatal overdose in Rockville Center that occurred on January 7, 2019. The investigation led to the following arrests:
 
Defendant David Gugel, 36, of Floral Park and Defendant Michael Thomas, 25, of Elmont. The defendants are linked to the fatal overdose of a 38 year old woman.
 
Defendant Michael Thomas is charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and 9 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree.
 
Defendant David Gugel is charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree. Both defendants will be arraigned on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
