NCPD: Uniondale Man Arrested After Holding Ex-Girlfriend Hostage for Three Days

Uniondale, NY - January 9, 2017 - The First Squad reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for kidnapping that occurred in Uniondale on Monday, January 08, 2018 at 5:14. pm.
 
According to detectives, on Friday, January 05, 2018 the defendant Michael S. Villanueva, 23, violated a Suffolk County Stay Away Order by driving over to his 19 year old ex-girlfriend’s West Main Street residence in East Islip. Upon arrival Villanueva grabbed her dog that she was walking outside and forced the dog into his 2010 Toyota. The victim entered his car in attempt to get her dog back. Villanueva drove away with the victim and her dog while heading back to his residence in Uniondale. 
 
While driving in the car, the defendant took the victim’s cell phone after she attempted to dial 911. Defendant Villanueva kept the victim locked in his residence for three days. On the third day Monday, January 08, 2018 Villanueva allowed the victim to use his phone so she could call her parents. Her parents immediately called 911 and had First Precinct police respond over to Villanueva’s residence only to discover both were gone. Further investigation and with the assistance of the Suffolk County police led detectives to a Parkway Avenue residence in Amityville where the victim was located without injuries. Defendant Villanueva was placed into police custody without incident.
 
Michael S. Villanueva is charged with Kidnapping 2nd Degree, Robbery 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree, and Criminal Contempt 1st Degree. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday January 10, 2018.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
