Levittown Man Arrested after Verbal Argument Turns to Beating with Wooden Club

Levittown, NY - January 6, 2016 - Second Squad detectives report the details of an arrest for an assault that occurred in Levittown on Sunday, 12/27/15 at 6:00 P.M.

According to detectives, James Slattery, 18, of Levittown, was involved in a verbal argument with a male victim, 40, while at a residence on Chimney Lane.  The defendant struck the victim with a wooden club on his neck causing him to fall to the ground and then struck his several more times about the body.

Nassau County Police Ambulance transported the victim, who sustained abrasions, bruising and a concussion, to a local hospital for treatment.

Second Squad detectives arrested Slattery on Tuesday, 1/05/16 on Chimney Lane.  He is being charged with Assault 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Wednesday, 01/06/16 in First District Court, Hempstead.
